How to Auto-Publish IGTVS, Instagram Stories, + Carousels

Are you finding that Instagram is a TOTAL time suck these days?

Or maybe you’ve created great content to post, but the scheduling part has become a total headache. You may even know how to batch and schedule your social media content, but certain key pieces keep falling through the cracks or wasting your precious time.

You can use a feature called “auto-publish”! It allows you to schedule posts to be published at predetermined times. YES...even for those pesky IGTVs, carousels, and Instagram Stories! 💪

It’s an AMAZING way you can automate so many posts to make sure you’re posting daily and consistently so that your IG page maintains its momentum.

This will allow you to maximize marketing efforts to help boost engagement, grow your community, and make more sales. 💰

Because let’s be real - it can be tough to consistently show up on IG.

And by automating your content, you’re allowing yourself space to concentrate on the more important things, like growing your business. 

I’ll share with you exactly what I do that'll save your energy and give you back your time so that posting on Instagram is no longer a dreaded task, but rather a part of your daily workflow.

Programs You Can Use for Auto-Publishing

While there are many different auto-publish apps, from Later to Facebook Business Manager, I'll share 2 programs to use which both are within the Facebook software.

I'll talk about which media to use them for, and why you NEED to be using them too! 

I'll be sharing how to schedule and auto-publish the BIG 3 on IG:

🧡 Carousels

🧡 IGTV

🧡 Stories

Creator Studio

The first auto-publishing program I'll share with you is Creator Studio. This app is FREE and the most affordable way to make sure that your content is getting published.

I personally use Creator Studio to publish feed posts like carousels and IGTV. When you first click into the program, you'll appreciate how user-friendly it is, and a piece of cake it is to navigate.

Carousel Posts 

When you're on the dashboard of Creator Studio, make sure that Instagram is selected for you to post.

You'll click on "Create Post", then Instagram Feed, and select the account you'll be posting on.

The great thing about Creator Studio is not only are you able to use it for yourself, but you can also use it for accounts you manage too.

A window will pop up, and you'll see that you can add your caption, hashtags, and select your location.  

The only downside of Creator Studio is that unlike other scheduling platforms, there isn't an area for you to put your 1st comment. SO, the hashtags have to be placed in the same area with the caption.

Now here's the cool part!

When you're ready to select the visual piece to post, you can choose video or portrait, and you'll see editing tools like tagging and cropping. I love that there are options available like this for you to use, making the process of posting even quicker and easier.

Because let's face it - anything that makes your life simple is a blessing for busy business owners. 💪🏼

When creating a carousel post, you can select more than 1 visual. Just make sure that the graphics are in the correct order as you wouldn't want to accidentally post something out of order!

And get this - what you can do from there is schedule the carousel to auto-publish on a SPECIFIC day.

*cue excitement*

Easy-peasy, right?!

No more getting annoying alerts on your phone to manually publish a carousel post, which can get downright irritating especially if you're managing multiple accounts.

If you use Later or another software for scheduling most of your regular feed posts, I know it can suck to switch back and forth between programs. But by using Creator Studio, you’ll be able to make SURE that the posts are actually getting posted (instead of worrying about missing a notification and your post getting forgotten!). It’s my GO-TO for stress-free carousel post scheduling  🙌🏼

Instagram TV

Video is ALL THE RAGE on Instagram these days. 🔥

But as you’ve probably noticed, many common social media schedulers don’t have the capability to schedule your amazing IGTV videos. 

Boo!

But there IS a solution.

Just like carousel posts, you can use Creator Studio to auto-publish videos to IGTV.

Auto-publishing video on Creator Studio follows a similar process to auto-posting carousel posts.

Here are a few hot tips to keep in mind:

✅ When deciding which videos to use, make sure they're vertical (watch your aspect ratio!) as it looks better to the eye.

✅ You’ll have the option to share a preview of the video to your feed and on your FB page if you want to.

✅ Post that vid on your feed so users can see it too! You're giving your video a chance to have as much exposure as possible.

✅ The BEST part about is you can also auto-generate images for your cover image, or select your custom-branded frame.

Now that you're satisfied with the way your video looks, you can schedule it out to auto-post so you can publish beautiful, engaging videos WITHOUT having to do any manual work. 

Once you're done, you can see ALL the things scheduled out for an account by clicking on "scheduled" and you'll get a view of any drafts, archives, published posts, etc.

These tools and strategies have been a game 👏🏻 changer 👏🏻 in my social media business. 

Why so, Amber?

Because NOW you don't have to log into your personal or clients' account and manually post.

Especially if you have clients with larger followings or stricter settings - it can be such PAIN to log in/log out of those different accounts.

Luckily, we have Facebook Creator Studio to the rescue!! 💪🏼

Facebook Business Manager

The next scheduling software I'll be going over is how to use Facebook's Business Manager. This is also free, and it's designed to help you manage and organize multiple Facebook pages, profiles, and groups.

Most of the tasks you can do from the Facebook website are covered in the app.

But rather than posting on FB, I'm sharing with you how to schedule and auto-publish IG story posts!

Instagram Stories

This guide wouldn’t be complete without showing you how auto-publish Instagram stories!

If you’re a social media manager, you probably have more and more clients wanting you to manage their Instagram story strategy.

But there’s truly nothing worse than having to upload a whole bunch of story slides manually. 😩

This is where Facebook Business Manager comes in. 

This tool is also free, and it's designed to help you manage and organize multiple Facebook pages, profiles, and groups.

However, it also comes in SUPER handy for scheduling Instagram and Facebook stories! #LifeSaver

How to Auto-Publish Instagram Stories with Facebook Business Manager

To publish an IG story, you have to make sure you already have a FB page set up.

You need that page to access the FB Business Manager tool.

To get there, click by following this order:

Tools ➡️ Business Suite ➡️ Business Manager

Once you're there, you can either upload an image, video, or BOTH to create your IG story.

After you've made your selection, click on schedule story, choose a specific date to publish...

Anddd you're done! 

A few things to note:

• If you'd like to add IG stickers, or some other unique IG feature, FB Business Manager doesn't have that capability. You'd have to use the IG app and manually publish the post.
• Facebook Business Manager *can* be a little clunky, but they’re still an amazing way to batch and schedule your Instagram story content for either yourself or your clients!

There you go, friends!  You now know how to auto-publish IGTV, carousels, and stories on Instagram.

And instead of having to stress over scheduling a new IG post every day, you can set it to auto-post on apps like Creator Studio or Facebook Business Manager, and get back to doing what's really important!
